Pramono Ensures No Road Closures During Monorail Pole Demolition

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung ensured that the project to dismantle the abandoned monorail poles standing along Jalan HR Rasuna Said will be carried out in the third week of this month.

without road closure

The demolition execution begins on Tuesday or Wednesday next week.

"We will dismantle the monorail poles in the third week, either next Tuesday or Wednesday," he said, Tuesday (1/6).

Dismantling of Monorail Poles to Complete in 2026

According to Pramono, the entire demolition process will be carried out directly by the Jakarta Provincial Government through the Jakarta Public Works Agency, not PT Adhi Karya. This step is taken after the letter sent by the Jakarta Provincial Government to Adhi Karya passed the specified deadline.

Despite the involvement of heavy equipment and the construction work being on the main road, Pramono emphasized that the Jakarta Provincial Government will not close the road during the demolition process.

Meanwhile, regarding the location for disposing of demolition materials, he also said that this is the authority of the Jakarta Provincial Government.

"So the demolition will still be carried out, with existing experience, Bina Marga will coordinate to carry out the demolition without road closure," he added.

The demolition of abandoned monorail poles is carried out to improve the aesthetics of the city and maintain the safety of road users.
